Family Picture

Our cute little family.
We went on a walk again and set out our tripod. Lincoln picked out all our clothes. He likes things to match. Whenever we went to the doctor, Lincoln picked the dum dum that was the same color as his shirt.

Lid Fingers

Lincoln put all his marker lids on his fingers.
Not long after Lincoln put the lids on his fingers, we had to go to the bank to wire our down payment. After we got loaded into the car Lincoln said in his prayer "please bless that we will drive safely to the dump." He does not even know what a dump is. I laughed so hard. Lincoln is so funny. I was actually having a bad afternoon, because Lincoln would not take a nap and we had twenty minutes to get to the bank to get the wire in time. I was rushed and had to get myself and two boys ready for the first time. It was crazy. After Lincoln said his prayer I was in a good mood all day long.

First Walk

Charlotte, Lincoln, and Porter on the bridge.
Porter, Caleb, and Lincoln at the gazebo.
We went on our first walk today. We had a great time. The weather was pleasant and Porter enjoyed it. We thought he would sleep the whole time, but he was awake for the first half. We love our evening walks.

Yucky Milk

Lincoln feeding Porter.
Lincoln has been wanting to feed Porter "yucky milk" since I started getting samples of formula. He was scared to feed him at the hospital, but at home he loved it!

Brothers

Lincoln and Porter laying on the floor together.
I changed Porter's diaper and he was very alert and happy on the floor. I put the blanket Grandma Day on him and talked with Porter. Lincoln came over and did the same thing. He did a finger play "Elken Schmelken" with him, which is what Grandma Day does to Lincoln, which my Grandpa Bredthauer did with me. We loved having Grandma Day spend the week with us. She did so much to help us. Porter doesn't know life without Grandma and hope we will adjust without her.

Our House

Our new house.
Our first family picture inside our first home!
We took Grandma Day to see our new house. She took our picture and has really helped us out. We have been very busy with Porter and the house. She has watched the boys so we could sign some papers and do some inspections. She is a wonderful Mother and Grandmother.

Porter: A Birth Story

Just got checked into the hospital. Dilated to an 8 going natural and still smiling!

Porter Hugh Bott was born at 6:32 PM. He weighed 9 pounds and was 22 inches long.

Birth Story: I woke up around 4:30AM and couldn't go to sleep, because my contractions were getting pretty strong. I had a bath and got ready for the day. I called Grandma Day at 6:00AM in the morning and told her the baby was going to be coming today. We signed the purchase agreement for our home at 10:00AM and then went to the grocery store. My contractions were about every 10-15 minutes at this point. We had spaghettios for lunch and Lincoln and Caleb took a nap. I put dinner in the oven (slow roasting chicken) and did some reading. After nap Lincoln and I had popsicles and then played Candyland. At 4:00PM I called my mom and my dad answered the phone. I nearly had a heart attack, thinking my mom left the phone at home. I found at my dad came too and was taking a flight back Sunday afternoon. I then called my doctor, but she was gone, so another doctor asked about my contractions which were 5 minutes apart and fairly intense. So she said to come to the hospital now. My parents arrived at 4:40PM and Caleb quickly ate dinner and we left. Someone double parked our car, but luckily they were there to move it. Our drive to the hospital was very quick. We made nearly every green light, even one that I always get stopped at. After we got checked in, I was dilated to an 8. Once I was fully dilated I pushed three times and Porter was born at 6:32PM. He weighed 9 pounds and was 22 inches long. Overall it was a wonderful birth experience. Porter is a cute baby and I am so proud to be his mommy!

Covered in Flour

Lincoln got so covered in flour, he turned the grizzly bear on his shirt into a polar bear.

We were making rolls and I dropped the flour container on the floor and it broke and spilt flour everywhere. Lincoln wanted to play in it. I figured it was already a huge mess and let him go for it. He ran into the kitchen and bellyflopped into the flour. He had a great time. I cleaned his clothes with the vacuum when he was done. He absolutely loved it, but I don't think we will ever do it again!

Car Seat Tent

I finally finished the car seat tent. I now have everything ready for the baby. It could be any day now since I am 38 weeks. Lincoln was born on his due date, so I don't anticipate this one coming any sooner.

Sticks

Lincoln loves throwing sticks in the water and watching them float.
We go on walks nearly every evening and we have to go on the bridge to throw sticks in the creek. While we wait on the other side of the bridge to see the stick floating Linc will say "Stick? Stick?" until we see it.

Popcorn Popping Everywhere

Lincoln cleaning the spilled popcorn.
We made popcorn and the lid fell off, so popcorn went everywhere. Lincoln was upset until I let him play in it. He also grabbed a towel to clean it.
