 Porter opening presents.
Lincoln opening a present.
Lincoln is excited about his Kindle Fire!
We had a wonderful Christmas.  The kids woke up at 5:30, which is normal for them.  We opened presents and played with our toys all day.  The boys each got a Kindle Fire and a teenage mutant ninja turtle.  Lincoln got a remote control helicopter, board games, hot wheels, and a toy rocket. Porter got an excavator, toy gun, and hot wheels. Caleb and I got I-phones.  We were very spoiled!

Fort

Porter and Lincoln inside their fort.
Lincoln and Porter like playing in a fort.  Lincoln liked the fort so much that he said he would sleep there, but since it is Christmas Eve, he had to sleep in his bed so Santa could bring presents.

Gingerbread House

Lincoln's gingerbread house.
We went to a friend's house and had a gingerbread contest.  Lincoln did most of this.  I put the frosting on and he put the candy there.  We had a lot of fun.  The kids stayed downstairs and had a candy fight when we were done.  We had a lot of fun!

Bubbles

Lincoln riding his bike.
Porter blowing bubbles for Lincoln to pop.
We have had really warm weather and we played outside!  Porter loved using the bubble gun and Lincoln loves popping them.  Lincoln is getting really good at riding his bike.  We still need to practice starting without help though.

Chasing

Lincoln and Porter chasing each other outside.
It was such a nice day outside today.  I love that we can play outside in December and just have a jacket on.  Porter's favorite place to be is in the sandbox, but a game of tag convinced him to leave the sand and tractors.  Lincoln and Porter play so well together.  It's nice to use our energy outside!

Cousins

Porter, Rio, Quinton, Lincoln, and Jaylyn.
This is the first time all the cousins have been together since Quinton was born.  It is weird not to have my parents there, but still fun to be together.

Obsessions

Lincoln is writing his Christmas list.
Porter is digging in the sand with his excavator.
Lincoln loves Holidays.  He is so excited for Christmas that he has been writing all of our wish lists.  We told Lincoln that he has to sit on Santa's lap this year...we will see if he will brave it.   Porter is obsessed with his tractors.  His favorite is this excavator.  He holds it all day long.  When he goes to bed it has to sleep in his chair with its own blanket.  Silly boys!

Halloween

The mother-load of candy.
The kids got tons of Halloween candy.  We went to the school and church trunk or treats earlier in the month and they got lots of candy from those.  The boys loved going door to door to get candy.  Porter told everyone that "Porter spider, Lincoln America."  He also pointed out the stars and serenaded us with "Twinkle, Twinkle."  We came home, because their buckets were full and Porter was done.  Lincoln and I went out to get the last 10 houses in our neighborhood.  We were about halfway done when Lincoln threw up.  We were going down the steps and he just lost it.  The woman at the door gave me some paper towels and I cleaned it up as best I could.  Lincoln was sick all night and didn't even get to have any of his candy. Poor kid, he still had fun though.   The kids got so much candy!

We were able to go to the Tabernacle to watch Uncle Seth play the Tabernacle organ.  He did great at his recital and the boys sat reverently and seemed to enjoy it.

Lincoln driving the tractor with Grandpa.
Porter watching Lincoln drive the tractor.
We made a trip out to Utah for Lincoln's fall break.  Lincoln loved playing in the leaves, until he sat in dog poop, so we had to change clothes. Porter loves to look at tractors and sit on them when they are off, but he would not go for a ride with Grandpa.  Lincoln sure loved driving and Porter loved watching!

Train Making

Porter made a train with his vehicles.
Porter is completely obsessed with vehicles.  His favorite are the construction tractors.  I made the mistake of showing him videos on youtube.  He now wants to watch them all the time.  While playing with his toys he said train and then lined them up like a train.  It is so much fun to see this little boy grow!

Lincoln had a great soccer season.  He scored 2 goals at this game and scored during almost every game.  Lincoln has worked hard and attended every practice and game.  His skills have improved and he has started passing.  Way to go Lincoln!

Lincoln is loving school and he still likes homework.  He did a book report today and drew an awesome picture of a beaver building a dam.  We bought a science kit from his fundraiser and made some slime.  He loves to experiment.

Jello Jigglers

Lincoln and Porter cutting jello jigglers.
Lincoln loves jello and I don't make it very often.  This was our first time making jello jigglers and both boys loved it.  It was gone in about ten minutes.  We will definitely be doing these again!

Cold Day of Soccer

Lincoln almost scored a goal.
Porter is happy despite the cold.
Lincoln has been doing great at soccer this fall.  He has scored several goals and his defense has improved.  He plays for an hour, so that is long for Porter, but he is happy if he can walk around.

Porter is excited for his birthday.
Opening presents.
Porter had a really fun birthday.  We had a neighbor family come over to celebrate.  We had Porter's favorite food pizza and a yummy birthday cake.  Porter loved the cake and all the toys he got for his birthday.  Lincoln even spent his own money to give him that firetruck.  We love Porter so much he loves to make everyone happy and I am so blessed to be his mother.

Visit from Grandma

Porter and Lincoln with Grandma Bott.
Grandma Bott came to visit for a few days while I needed some medical care.  She helped a lot and the boys loved having grandma over.  Being far from family is the hardest part of living in Colorado.  We are sure grateful she was able to come.

Digging

Porter digging in the sand.
Lincoln, Porter, and Caleb digging in the sand.
Lincoln tunneled his hand through the sand.
We went to the park this morning.  The kids like the volleyball sand more than the playground.

Typical Days

Lincoln helping mommy unload the dishwasher.
Porter eating yogurt.
Porter loves key lime yogurt. Or "ogurt" as he calls it.
Sometimes I just blog about the fun things that we do, but most days we just stay home and don't do much.  I try to take pictures of the everyday things, because one day these boys will grow up and I won't have high chairs, messy yogurt faces, and someone to help me unload the dishwasher.  I want to remember our fun times as well as our regular times too.

First Day of Kindergarten

Lincoln had his first day of school today.  He was really nervous and almost cried as we waited in line to go in.  He left happy and said he loved school.
