Mount Rushmore

Our family at the entrance of Mount Rushmore.
 Mount Rushmore during the day.
Mount Rushmore at night.
We had a fabulous time visiting Mount Rushmore.  We did the Presidential Trail and then we decided to go out for dinner and check in at the hotel.  After swimming, we went back to Mount Rushmore for the Lighting ceremony.  I think it looks grand both during the day and night.

Jewel Cave

 Lincoln hiking around Jewel Cave.
Some stalactites in Jewel Cave.
We loved Jewel Cave.  We did a tour that was just over and hour and we climbed up and down over 700 stairs.  We really enjoyed it.  Porter liked it as long as we were walking, but when we stopped he would scream, so it was a good thing we walked so much.

I'm a Soccer Mom!

Lincoln ready for his first day of soccer.
 Lincoln practicing with his team.
Porter and Mommy watching the game.
Lincoln crying during his soccer game.
Lincoln has been so excited to play soccer.  He did great during the practice, but he just cried during the game.  He is so shy that I was not surprised he cried, but I thought he would at least run towards the ball.  We have two weeks until his next game, so hopefully we can get in our own practicing so he will run during his next game!

Oh Boy, I've got Joy!

Lincoln's first day of Joy School.
I have been looking into preschools and did not like anything for the price.  Since I majored in Early Childhood Education, I could not justify paying an arm and a leg, since we do so many preschool activities at home.  A few moms in our neighborhood did joy school in the past and they let us join them.  Lincoln's class has 3 other boys, so he will fit right in.

Park Play

 Porter sitting on the stairs.
Lincoln climbing like Curious George.
We love to go to the park.  We go nearly everyday, because the boys love it so much.  Lincoln loves to climb on everything and Porter is starting to explore more.

Porter's First Haircut

Porter does not like getting his hair cut.
We gave Porter his first haircut today.  He did not like it at all.  He is happy all the time, so we were surprised at how rough the haircut was.  It was only about a two minute cut, but it looks cute.

Hands and Knees

Porter finally got up on his hands and knees!
Porter has been army crawling since he was about 7 months old.  He finally got up, so he could pull out all of our movies.  He is into everything!

Laughter

 Lincoln making Porter laugh.
Porter's sweet laughing face.
I have no idea how Lincoln can make Porter laugh so much.  Today after dinner, he just ran up to him and got really close to him and Porter would laugh like crazy.  No one can make Porter laugh as much as Lincoln makes him laugh.  Porter is happy for everyone, but he does not giggle, unless Lincoln is being silly.  These two boys are great brothers.

Wildlife Experience

 Lincoln being a spider.
Looking at the poisonous dart frogs.
Chasing away the interactive fish.
We went to the Wildlife Experience museum today.  It was stormy outside and we needed something to keep us busy.  Lincoln absolutely loved it.  He loves museums, but he decided he likes living animals more (AKA the zoo).  Porter really loved the interactive fish.  When he moved, the would swim away.  It was really fun.

Sunday Morning

Lincoln keeping Porter entertained.
We have not slept in since Porter was born.  This morning, when Lincoln woke up, instead of coming into our room, he went into Porter's room and read to him.  They had a great time playing for nearly an hour.  I forgot how nice it is to sleep in!

We had a great time at the Hogle Zoo.  It has been a few years since we have been and there were lots of improvements.  Thanks for inviting us Mel!

Baby Cousins

Porter and Jaylyn kind of playing together.

Dinosaur Park

 Lincoln looking at the dinosaurs.
Linc's favorite dinosaur is the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Our family inside a cave.
We started out trip to Utah at the Ogden Dinosaur Park.  I have not been there since fourth grade and they have made many improvements.  Lincoln was a little bit scared at first, because some of the dinosaurs made noise and they looked real, but he quickly warmed up and loved it.  Porter just loves being in the stroller, so he was content.  Overall, we had a great time!
