Sandbox

Since Caleb was in California while Lincoln had his tooth extracted, he promised if Lincoln and Porter were good while he was gone, he would get them a sandbox.  They always get a toy from Dad when he goes on a trip, but it is usually just a small toy.  The boys were happy to get this.

First Lost Tooth

Several weeks ago Lincoln fell while running in the house and hit his tooth and made it loose.  We went to the dentist for our regular cleaning and the dentist said it would fall out in a few weeks.  Instead of falling out in a few weeks, it got abscessed.  We went to our dentist, but their tools were to big, so we went to a pediatric dentist.  He took x-rays of the broken root of the tooth and we got on amoxycillon.  One week later, we went back to the dentist to have the tooth and root extracted.  Lincoln had his last swim lesson before the dentist and he wanted to go still.  Lincoln was very brave and didn't cry at all, even when he got the shot in his gums.  He left his tooth for the tooth fairy and got to eat applesauce, yogurt, pudding, and popsicles all day.  He did a really great job through it all.  While this was going on, Caleb was gone in California for work, so he missed all the excitement.

Since Lincoln is now five years old, I needed to get him a new picture.  We woke up this morning at 5:00, so after eating breakfast, I decided to shoot some pictures.  The boys were a bit nervous at first, but we found some air pellets and they each chose one to hold and that made them happy.  The early sunlight was great for these shots.  Lincoln and Porter are so cute!

Uno Attack

Simon and his fiancee came to visit us this weekend.  We played Uno Attack and Porter loved pushing the button!

Porter loves this tool set.  He moved a doll chair my grandpa made and worked on the tool bench.  He had a lot of fun!

More Swimming

We love to go swimming.  Having a pool is one of the best things in the summer.  The boys have so much fun.  Lincoln can back float on  his own now and Porter loves splashing!

Basement Camping

Lincoln has been wanting to go camping, but we have had busy weekends, so Lincoln and Caleb decided to set up the tent in the basement.  They had a great time and stayed all night in the tent!

We love to be outside!  We run around and play hard outside.

Swim Lessons

Lincoln does not like getting his face wet, so we waited until this year to start swimming lessons.  This was his second lesson and he has been doing very well.  He is getting used to the water and less scared.  It was really cold outside, so the lifeguards turned the water up to 85 degrees.  It was steaming, as it was only 46 degrees outside.  At the end of the lesson, a newt swam into the pool and the lifeguards caught it.  Lincoln and Porter thought it was really funny to see.

Lincoln had an awesome birthday party.  All his friends came.  They had fun playing games, eating pizza and cake, and playing with Lincoln's new presents.  After the party we played with his presents, then went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner.  Lincoln said he had a perfect birthday.  Happy 5th Birthday Lincoln!

We love going to the park!  The boys have lots of energy and I get some exercise getting there.  Today is Lincoln's last day being 4!
