Daddy's Sneeze

Porter's reaction to Daddy's sneeze.

Caleb's side of the family has the loudest sneezes and coughs I have ever heard. It scares me every time too. I love Porter's face, his startled reaction is cute. We'll have to wait to find out if he sneezes loud like dad or hopefully more quitely like Charlotte.

Little Moments

Porter waking up from his nap.
Lincoln taking a nap.

Today was one of the days, where I really appreciated the little things in life. I love being a wife and mother more than anything, but I often find myself going on "auto." I am trying to slow down and enjoy every moment. Today, I felt like I had lots of moments to enjoy. I love holding Porter and making him laugh. He is so happy to see me when he awakes. I love playing games and teaching Lincoln. I love watching my boys sleep and wonder what they dream about. My job title may be homemaker, but I am trying to be a memory maker for these sweet little boys. I want them to remember the time I spend with them rather than how clean the house is. I want our home to be happy and that is my first priority. I work hard when the kids are asleep, so we can have as much time together while they still enjoy being with me.

Cupcake Cookies

The sugar cookies I made.

Last week we made delicious sugar cookies. While making them, I ran out of frosting as well as energy to make more. Today I made icing and frosted the remaining cookies. They turned out exactly how I imagined (rarely does that happen). They taste as good as they look and I really enjoyed making them.

Park

Lincoln running around the playground.
Lincoln going down the slide.

We had warm enough weather to play at the park. Porter stayed in the stroller the whole time. It was windy and snowy, but it was great to get out of the house.

Morning

Lincoln holding Porter.

Lincoln and Porter love each other so much. Lincoln always gives Porter toys and sings to him. Porter loves watching everything Lincoln does. Most of all, Lincoln loves holding Porter and Porter loves it when Lincoln holds him.

Sugar Cookies

Lincoln decorating sugar cookies.

We made Valentine cookies late this week. Because of Caleb's broken ankle, we weren't able to make them on Valentine's Day, so we made them today. We were hoping to get more candy, but Walmart had a slim selection. We love sugar cookies, so we made just a few hearts and other shapes too.

Broken Leg

Lincoln playing with toys.
Porter holding Winnie the Pooh.

Caleb sitting in the Doctor's office.

We spent our Valentine's Day at the Urgent Care. It was almost two weeks ago that Caleb went in and his ankle was not getting better. After another X-ray was taken, our assumptions were confirmed. Caleb broke his leg. We will meet with an Orthopedic doctor once the swelling goes down and see how they will treat it.

New Clothes

Lincoln in his new shirt and hat.

We went to J.C. Penney since we had a $10 off coupon. If you know me well, you know I love a good sale. This shirt and hat were $6 and I got a pair of earings for $5, so with the $10 off coupon, I spent $1.08. Lincoln loves his shirt. He loves new clothes as much as I do.

Colorful Foot

Caleb sprained his ankle on February first. He has kept it wrapped and iced most of the day. He unwrapped it and Lincoln saw it for the first time and said "Dad your foot is colorful like a rainbow." It is very bruised and swollen. Poor guy is on crutches (actually on the recliner most of the time).

Random Red Balloons

When I opened the blinds this morning, this is what I saw. I laughed and lifted Lincoln up so he could see it. We live in a new build, so they put huge balloons up by the model homes. It was really random, I guess you had to be there. (I didn't realize I was taking the picture through the screen side of the window. I had just a second to take the picture.)

Our Big Snowstorm

Lincoln getting ready to throw a snowball at me.

After we got 20 inches of snow from the huge Thursday/Friday storm, Lincoln has wanted to play in the snow. It has been way too cold until today. Once Porter took a nap, Lincoln and I headed to the backyard. We tried to make a snowman, but the snow was too powdery. We were able to have a snowball fight. It was really fun. We chased each other, threw snowballs, fell in the snow, and had hot chocolate when we were done. It was a great snow day!

Making Valentines

Lincoln sticks his tongue out while concentrating.
Lincoln's completed valentine.

We had a great time making Valentines. Lincoln picked out the colors and loved the messiness of the paint. He wrote his name by himself too. Lincoln loves doing art.

He Rolled Over

Porter just rolled over.

While I was in the kitchen getting an apple for Lincoln, I set Porter on his tummy while I used the apple slicer. He turned over to my surprise as well as Porter's surprise (he was watching Lincoln hitting whisks together). He then rolled over two more times for the video camera.
