Bowling and Backsides

Lincoln's first time bowling.
Caleb bowling.
Kathryn bowling.
Grandpa Day bowling.

Lincoln watching Grandma Day bowl.

We went bowling on for New Year's Eve. Lincoln did really well, but he got tired and hungry towards the end. Lincoln scored 79 and I scored 56. Porter slept the whole time and I took all the pictures, so that's why we are not seen here.

Dinosaur Train

Lincoln's dinosaur train.

Grandma and Grandpa Day brought some Christmas with them. Lincoln likes the train the most.

Hair Cut

Charlotte before.
Charlotte after. (More lights must be on, since I look pale.)

I finally cut my hair. I had been growing it out for 8 1/2 years. It was kind of sad to part with it, since most people have only known me with super long hair. I donated 10 inches to locks of love, just like I did years ago. It was a free hair cut and should save me time and money on hair products.

Garden of the Gods

Lincoln, Caleb, and Porter at Garden of the Gods.
Lincoln, Charlotte, and Porter at a different rock.

Lincoln loved going to Garden of the Gods in the spring, so we decided to go again, since Caleb had a free hotel night and a day off work. It is so amazing to see the natural beauty in the world. These rock formations were amazing. It was very cold, but he had a great time.

Re-Purposing

Porter in a hat I made.

Two shirts I never wore.

Since fabric is not cheap, I decided to use clothing I don't use to make things. I found a pattern for this hat and decided to give it a try. It was super fast to make and Porter looks pretty cute in it.

Bumbo

Porter sitting in the Bumbo Grandma Bott gave him for Christmas. He is getting so big!

Brothers

Porter and Lincoln.

Lincoln loves taking pictures with Porter. This is his favorite pose too. Lincoln really wants to be on Porter's back though!

Christmas Day

Lincoln got the "big boy bike" he wanted. You can see how happy he is.
Lincoln loved opening presents. We let him open every single one.

Charlotte holding Porter. He got some little toys that he will like in a few months.

Porter in his new sleep sack. He is a very happy baby.

We all got spoiled this year. Lincoln got the bike and frog he wanted. He didn't get a toy duck that he drew in his letter for Santa though. Porter got diapers, a new sleep sack, bath toys, and teething rings. Caleb got a new electric razor and Charlotte got Printshop Elements. We also got a new computer that was much needed. This was such a fun Christmas. Lincoln loved opening all the presents and Porter was happy as usual. We had a great morning playing with our new presents, then we went to church. It was nice just to have Sacrament Meeting and it was so special holding our baby It made me really think how Mary felt holding baby Jesus. We have talked about the real meaning of Christmas a lot this season and we are so grateful to celebrate our Savior's birth. I loved hearing Lincoln sing Christmas songs and talk about the baby Jesus. He loves the "Bright Night Star." We then went to my Aunt Nancy's house in Littleton for dinner and I got to talk with my cousins and Lincoln played with his second cousin Cayden and had a blast. Porter and his second cousin Ellie were born on the same day. They didn't play together this year, but in a few years they will be good friends too.

Christmas Coookies

The sugar cookies we made for neighbors and Santa.

Sugar cookies are Lincoln's favorite treat. He helped me make the frosting and put on the sprinkles. We don't have any Christmas shapes, so I just used a circle. I had seen ornaments like this and thought it might be cute for a cookie too (plus it might deter me from eating too many so my belly won't look like Santa's).

Fun Winter Day

Porter smiling at me.
Lincoln spraying the snow.

I wrote Lincoln's name in the snow. He later stepped on it and was sad all day, because he ruined it. We went out again later and wrote the names of our family in the snow.

The Stockings were Hung by the Chimney with Care

Our stockings.

We finally have a fireplace, so I decided to make stockings. I made these while Caleb was gone. I love the neutral colors and the texture on them. They were cheaper than buying them too. Lincoln took this picture. I love his perspective. It makes for some creative photography.

Getting the Mail

Porter all bundled up to get the mail.

Getting the mail is my least favorite task when Caleb is traveling. We have to get bundled up and walk half a block in the snow. Our Postal Carrier doesn't even come until after 4:00PM, so we either go in the dark or wait until the next day. We usually stop by on our way to the store or library, because it is easier that way. At least Porter is happy before we leave.

Good Morning

My favorite pajamas. (Porter's head is raised and the floor is clean.)

Lincoln eating green eggs. He loves Dr. Seuss books.

DIA

The blue bronco with the scary eyes at the airport.
We took Caleb to the airport today. Lincoln loves to look at the blue horse. He wants to fly in an airplane soon. Hopefully we can take a much needed vacation.

Ready for Church

Porter in his car seat ready for church.
While Caleb and I were gathering everything for church, Lincoln grabbed the camera and took pictures of Porter. I'm glad he captured this cute face! Spending the day with my family was the best present I received.

Lincoln put stickers on his hands.

Cinnamon Rolls

Lincoln stirring the yeast.

Lincoln holding Porter.
A very happy Porter.
Lincoln helped me make cinnamon rolls this morning. He loves to help me with everything. I love being a mommy and example to my boys. I try to be a good example. I don't think I am as happy as my boys though and I definitely do not have their super cute smiles.

Pure Joy

Lincoln loves holding Porter. Until Porter starts to cry! Lincoln also dressed himself.

Storytelling

Caleb telling Lincoln a story.
Lincoln loves to hear and tell stories. Caleb tells Lincoln a story from when he was a little kid and then Lincoln will tell a similar story and start out "Once upon a time, when I was a little kid..." It cracks me up every time. (Ignore Caleb's bed head.)

Sweet Baby

Our happy little Porter.

Cat Drawing

Lincoln drew a cat.
Lincoln has just started drawing animals. He gets frustrated very easily, but we talk about what the animals need. A face, body, 2 eyes, nose, smile, 4 legs, 2 ears, a tail, and the cat has whiskers. He can draw a lot better than I could at his age. He is very talented.
